![]() What an extraordinary year this has been for TMHRA! Our one-of-a-kind 75th anniversary was more than a celebration of our history — it was a powerful reminder of the passion, expertise, and resilience that define our profession. From the early days of this organization to the innovative work we’re doing today, our members have built a legacy rooted in service, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence in municipal human resources (HR). I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing board members for their exceptional leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication. Their contributions have helped lay the foundation for the progress we celebrate today. This milestone year has been about more than reflecting on the past. It’s been about taking bold steps forward to equip our members for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. One of our proudest accomplishments is the launch of the TMHRA Learning Library — an on-demand resource hub offering training, videos, guidelines, and checklists developed specifically for municipal HR professionals. We’re also thrilled to have introduced the first-ever municipal HR certification program in Texas, created in partnership with the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool. This groundbreaking initiative addresses a critical statewide need: the shortage of experienced HR professionals ready to step into senior leadership roles. By building a pipeline of future leaders, we’re strengthening the long-term vitality and excellence of our profession. The 2025 session is already full — a clear sign of the demand, excitement, and impact this program is generating. Of course, our work doesn’t stop here. Every day, HR professionals face complex challenges — from recruiting and retaining top talent in a competitive market, to navigating ever-evolving employment laws, supporting mental health and preventing burnout, adapting to hybrid and diverse work environments, and advancing equity, belonging, and opportunity in meaningful ways. These are not small tasks. They require ongoing collaboration, innovation, and active engagement from each of us. That’s why I encourage you to stay connected and involved. In our field, we’re often the ones others look to for guidance, solutions, and support. Let’s also be that same source of strength for one another by sharing our wins, offering help during difficult times, and celebrating the progress we make together. Our collective strength is magnified when we lift each other up. Thank you for your trust, your passion, and your continued involvement in this incredible organization. Let’s carry the momentum of our 75th year into the future by tackling today’s challenges and building a stronger, more resilient tomorrow.
